Safari Guide is an independent, ranger-authored editorial network. We publish visitor guidance, conservation context, ethical safari practices, ticket and fee information for reference, and related community tools.

Important: Safari Guide is not the official website of the Department of Wildlife Conservation, Udawalawe National Park administration, or any government booking portal. We do not sell park entry tickets online as an official counter substitute.

2. Acceptance of terms

By browsing or using this website, you confirm that you are old enough to agree to these terms in your jurisdiction, and that you will use the site lawfully and respectfully. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

3. Informational purpose only

Content on Safari Guide — including safari timing, wildlife notes, maps, ticket price tables, Eth Athuru Sevana (Elephant Transit Home) details, ethics guidelines, and blog articles — is provided for general information and education.

• Fees, opening hours, and rules can change without notice; always verify with park officers or official sources before travel
• Currency converter figures are indicative mid-market estimates, not bank, hotel, or gate exchange rates
• Weather shown on the site is approximate for the park area and may differ from conditions you experience on arrival
• Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed; animals move freely within the park

4. Park visits, safety, and responsibility

5. Ethical conduct

We encourage visitors to observe quietly, keep distance from wildlife, stay in vehicles except where officially permitted, avoid feeding animals, leave no litter, and respect flash and noise restrictions. Using this site does not replace official park rules posted at entrances or given by authorised officers and guides.

6. User submissions

If you send feedback, complaints, contact messages, guide registration details, or other content, you confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it. You grant Safari Guide a non-exclusive licence to use submissions as needed to respond, investigate, improve visitor standards, or operate the site — without transferring ownership of your personal identity beyond what you choose to disclose.

Do not submit unlawful, defamatory, or abusive material, or content that infringes others' rights. We may refuse, remove, or disregard submissions that violate these expectations.
